Nevena Popović

Nevena Popovic studied and received her MA in Belgrade (A. Preger) and Rome (V.Vitale). Later she studied with A. Ciccolini and V. Ashkenazi and many other renowned pianists. She has won prizes in international competitions in Italy and Germany, and has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and with orchestra in our country, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Finland, Hungary, Austria, on tour in Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Latvia and other countries of the former USSR, as well as at many major festivals at home and abroad, with conductors such as Thomas Sanderling, Emil Tabakov, Anton Kolar, Vanco Čavdarski , Jorma Panula… She has recorded for radio, television and CD as a soloist and with violinists Maya Jokanović, Sreten Krstic…

As an educator, Nevena Popovic is for many years a full professor at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka since its inception in 1998. Her students have won a number of awards at international competitions all over the world. Ten of them work at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and they are among our most successful artists (Milos Mihajlovic, Vladimir Milosevic, Vladimir Cvijic, Nebojsa Maksimovic, Sonja Loncar, Jasna Tucović, Dejan Subotic), a large number of them operate successfully abroad (Europe, USA, Canada, Australia ) .

She was a member of the international jury of the country, in Italy, France, Greece, Georgia. She has given numerous master classes at home and abroad .
