Theodore Tzovanakis studied piano in Greece, Germany, Scotland and Holland, as a scholar of the Greek State Scholarship Foundation, the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe and the ‘Alexander S. Onassis’ Foundation. He studied musicology at the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has won awards in Greek and international piano competitions. As a soloist he has collaborated with philharmonic orchestras in Greece, Germany, Great Britain, Austria, the Netherlands, Israel and Ukraine. He has given chamber music performances and piano recitals in Europe, U.S.A., N. Africa and the Middle East. His world premiere performances and recordings present works by D. Mitropoulos and A. Riades. His latest recordings include songs of Schumann, Schubert, Wolf, Brahms and Mendelssohn. His performances have been presented by the National Broadcasting Corporations of Greece, the Netherlands, Moldova, Israel and Czech Republic.
